Richard C. Wootan, MD, FACS, is a well-versed general surgeon who diagnoses and treats patients at his private practice in Dallas, TX. Richard C. Wootan, MD, FACS, attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and received his medical degree in 1977. Then, he served his internship at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas, TX (1977-1978). Furthermore, he conducted his general surgery residency at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, TX (1978-1982). In addition, Dr. Wootan received board certification in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Wootan remains an active member of the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Surgical Society, and the Dallas County Medical Society. Moreover, he attained fellowship of the American College of Surgeons. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude acquired at Texas A&M University (1973). Dr. Wootan was included among D Magazine’s Top Doctors, Texas Monthly’s Texas Super Doctors (2004-2018), and the Consumers’ Research Council of America Top Surgeons.  Dr. Wootan dedicates his spare time to his family and fly fishing.
